EastArkNet policy

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how EastArkNet, a service provided by Evocatus Media LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), handles information when you use the EastArkNet websites, official mobile applications, scanner, call archive, alerts, notifications, and related services (the "Service").

1. Our Privacy Approach

EastArkNet is designed to collect as little listener information as reasonably necessary to operate the Service.

We do not sell personal information, use personal information for targeted advertising, use advertising identifiers, or intentionally collect precise device location for ordinary scanner use.

EastArkNet does not create or retain a persistent individual listening history showing which calls or talkgroups a particular person, installation, device, connection, or scanner session listened to.

2. Information We Handle

Connection and operational information

When you use EastArkNet, our servers and infrastructure may receive information such as your IP address, timestamps, requested pages or API actions, browser or app information, app version/build, response status, security events, rate-limit events, and technical errors.

We use this information to deliver, secure, troubleshoot, and maintain the Service. We do not use IP addresses to create public listener maps or individual listener profiles.

Access codes

If you enter an authorized access code, EastArkNet processes it to determine which restricted talkgroups or features you may use and to detect misuse or unauthorized guessing.

Access codes are not intended to appear in ordinary analytics, public outputs, or support material. Do not send an access code in a support request.

Mobile-app notifications

Installing the EastArkNet app does not by itself register you for notifications. If you choose to enable notifications, EastArkNet may store a random installation identifier, a protected installation credential, a push-notification token, your platform, app version/build, notification status, and your selected notification categories.

This information is used to authenticate the app installation, save notification preferences, and send the notifications you requested. It is not based on your name, phone number, advertising ID, or hardware serial number.

You can disable notifications or delete the associated EastArkNet notification registration through the available app settings.

Website and PWA notifications

If you enable notifications through the EastArkNet website or installed web app, the browser creates a separate Web Push subscription. EastArkNet stores the subscription endpoint, cryptographic subscription keys, a random subscription identifier, and your selected notification topics so notifications can be delivered.

Website notification subscriptions are separate from mobile-app notification registrations. Removing one does not automatically remove the other.

Current listener counts and aggregate analytics

While the scanner is running, EastArkNet keeps short-lived session information in memory so it can calculate current listener counts and recover cleanly from brief reconnects. This temporary state expires after the scanner stops or the session becomes inactive.

EastArkNet may retain aggregate statistics such as total or average listener counts, traffic by talkgroup or system, scanner starts and reconnects, and broad playback or delivery reliability measurements.

Persistent aggregate analytics do not contain names, installation IDs, push tokens, device identifiers, access codes, raw IP addresses, scanner-session IDs, connection IDs, or a per-listener sequence of calls or talkgroups. Aggregate analytics are not joined to notification, access-code, or support records to build individual listener profiles.

Radio calls, archives, and alerts

EastArkNet records and stores radio communications that its equipment successfully receives and processes. Stored call information may include audio, date and time, radio system, talkgroup, source-radio information when available, access restrictions, and technical metadata.

EastArkNet also stores alerts and related information, which may include alert text, status, related talkgroups, audio, and other incident information.

Radio and alert content is Service content, not a record of who listened to it. Keeping a radio call does not mean EastArkNet keeps a list of the people who heard that call.

Information stored on your device

The website or app may store your selected talkgroups, appearance and interface choices, access-session information, notification settings, recently played items, policy acknowledgments, and temporary playback or cache information on your device.

Local information is not automatically sent to EastArkNet simply because it is stored on your device. Some values are transmitted when needed for a feature such as access authorization, notification registration, scanner operation, or a support request you choose to submit.

Support and reports

If you contact EastArkNet, we receive the information you choose to provide. This may include your email address, message, attachments, device or app information, and diagnostic details.

Do not send passwords, access codes, private keys, push tokens, or unrelated sensitive information.

3. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

Ordinary EastArkNet use is not intended to collect:

  • precise GPS location;
  • contacts, text messages, call logs, or email contents;
  • photos or files unless you choose to attach them to a support request;
  • microphone recordings or camera images from your device;
  • health, biometric, financial-account, payment-card, or government-ID information;
  • advertising identifiers or hardware serial numbers;
  • your Apple ID or Google account identity;
  • browsing history outside EastArkNet; or
  • a persistent individual listening history.

The radio audio you hear through EastArkNet is captured by EastArkNet's radio equipment. The EastArkNet app does not use your device microphone to create those recordings.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to operate the scanner, call archive, alerts, notifications, access controls, and related features; secure the Service; detect abuse; troubleshoot failures; understand aggregate usage and capacity; improve reliability; respond to support, privacy, copyright, abuse, security, and legal matters; enforce our policies; comply with law; and protect users, responders, the public, EastArkNet, and others.

We do not use personal information for behavioral advertising, sale, data-broker activity, or unrelated profiling.

5. When We Share Information

We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate EastArkNet, such as hosting, network, security, push-notification, app-store, email, support, backup, legal, accounting, or insurance providers. They receive information only as needed for the services they provide.

We may preserve or disclose information when required by applicable law, valid legal process, or a binding court order; to investigate unlawful use, fraud, abuse, or security incidents; or when legally permitted and reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or security.

Information may also be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, or sale, subject to applicable law and continued privacy obligations.

6. No Sale or Targeted Advertising

EastArkNet does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to operate and secure the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.

  • Short-lived live-listener session state expires after a brief period and is not stored as individual listening history.
  • Aggregate listener and service-performance statistics may be retained for up to 24 months. Older information may be deleted or reduced to broader aggregate summaries.
  • Mobile-app notification registrations remain while needed for enabled notifications and may be disabled or deleted through available app controls.
  • Website notification subscriptions remain while active and can be removed when you unsubscribe or use the available notification controls.
  • Radio-call, archive, alert, and related media are retained according to EastArkNet's operational content-retention practices and may be removed over time.
  • Operational logs are retained for a limited period appropriate for troubleshooting, security, and reliability.
  • Support, abuse, copyright, security, and legal records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary to resolve the matter or demonstrate compliance.
  • A valid preservation request, litigation hold, or other legal obligation may temporarily require longer retention.

Because aggregate statistics do not identify an individual listener, EastArkNet generally cannot isolate or remove one person's contribution from a stored aggregate count.

8. Your Choices and Requests

You may decline notification permission, change notification preferences, disable notifications, remove a website notification subscription, return to public access, clear available local settings, or uninstall the app.

You may also ask about, correct, or request deletion of information that can reasonably be associated with you or your notification installation. Submit privacy requests through EastArkNet Support.

Because ordinary public listening does not require a named account, we may need enough information to locate a support interaction or verify control of a notification installation. We may be unable to fulfill a request when the information cannot reasonably be linked to the requester, is required to be retained by law, or exists only as non-identifying aggregate statistics.

9. Security

EastArkNet uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information, including encrypted network connections, protected credentials, server-side authorization, access controls, input and rate limits, diagnostic redaction, limited retention, and least-privilege operation.

No system can guarantee absolute security. If you believe you have found a security problem, report it through EastArkNet Support and avoid publicly disclosing credentials or exploit details before reasonable coordination.

10. Children

EastArkNet is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. A parent or guardian who believes such information was provided may contact us through EastArkNet Support.

11. United States Operation and Privacy Rights

EastArkNet is operated from and primarily intended for users in the United States. Information may be processed and stored in the United States.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, portability, or limits on certain processing. EastArkNet will not discriminate against a user for making a legally protected privacy request.

12. Third-Party Services

App stores, device platforms, browsers, push-notification providers, agencies, radio-system operators, telecommunications providers, and websites linked from EastArkNet have their own privacy practices. EastArkNet does not control those third parties.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Service, technology, or law. When a change is material, we may provide notice through the website, app, or another reasonable method.

The effective date at the top identifies the current published version.
