Emergency Medical Services of Arkansas
Public calls for service ring at the county PSAP located at the St. Francis County Sheriff’s Office in Forrest City but are dispatched by EMSA dispatchers at the EMSA communications center, which is located at Forrest City Medical Center. EMSA also has its own number that rings at their communications center.
Radio traffic consists of plain English communication only.
The communications center answers to “dispatch.” Ambulance crews identify themselves with the unit they’re assigned to, all of which are 100 series numbers. Individuals not operating as part of a crew, such as administrative staff, use 200 series callsigns.
EMSA is dispatching on the county’s MOTOTRBO Capacity Plus system, operating under FCC callsign WSEC644. The antenna is about 100 feet above the ground on a water tower in Forrest City.
The system has three VHF frequencies and four talkgroups. It’s possible there are more talkgroups on this system that I have yet to find.
